Abstract: In today’s world, Cloud Computing has become an important base for variety of services like deployment, storage, virtualization etc. So due to this data being generated in the cloud needs to be maintained and secured. In order to maintain we need better ways to manage data and even make resource allocation easier and secure to different clients. Previously and even now Virtual Machines (VM’s) are being used by creating different VM’s for different clients or for application deployment using VM’s. Containers have now replaced these VM’s for application deployment and for providing better storage methods. But there is a (Container Sprawl) where security, provisioning, deployment can be extremely challenging for different applications where Open shift platform can be helpful. In order to overcome these problems, a new platform called OPENSHIFT is being used to deploy applications, analysing network and security issues in Containers. Open shift helps containers to overcome these issues and makes organization’s adopt container technologies. In this paper, we will use Open shift for Container deployment, analyse various ways and problems for deploying Open shift.

Abstract: In India, farming is the primary source of income in almost all villages. Depending upon the weather conditions and availability of power supply, farming systems in India are strategically utilized .With the acute water crisis being faced by our country and the depleting water level, farmers now face optimum water management issues. Power supply to farmers is untimely and not reliable, nearly one-fifth of India’s rural households still remain in acute darkness. The proposed system mitigates and provides a cost effective solution to address these issues. The system detects the water requirement of the soil based on soil moisture, temperature and humidity sensors. A threshold water level is set based on the plant type to automate the motor on/off operations. This is a convenient and affordable system which detects the supply voltage to automatically control motor operations. This system detects the phase voltage by using a phase detection circuit and sends a message to the farmer regarding availability of power supply. By using above sensors this system can also be tuned for disease monitoring. It also consists of a look up table which provides early stage plant disease prediction based on disease monitoring. ARM-7 LPC2148 is used which works on 3.3V power supply. The proposed model provides optimum use of resources for irrigation, reduces water requirement and helps to increase the crop yield.

Methods: Inclusion of Overall Project Status, Status on Milestones, Area of Concerns and Importance’s, Issues etc. Results/Findings: Can be implemented at construction industry especially for the projects where there are more complex variables and more quantities. Conclusion/Application: ‘Daily Progress Report’ can be effectively prepared by inclusion of the entities analyzed here and can be used to drive the Project.

Abstract: Background/Objectives: To evaluate the Value of Work Done (VoWD) for a Construction project using Earned Value Method (EVA). Methods: Ratio of Value of Work Done to the estimated value at completion. Results/Findings: Can be implemented at construction industry especially for the process plant construction projects. Conclusion/Application: ‘Automation in part of construction activities’ can be implemented in construction industries.

Abstract: The study on mission and vision statements is now a day not limited to private for profit making company and more to the experience of senior persons but also the other sectors. This paper tries to study the perspectives of employees in production sector based on a survey of 120 employees, this paper explored employees state of awareness of mission and vision statements, perceptions about their HR policies and whether the institution’s mission and vision statements has impact on their behaviour and attitudes.

Abstract: The article aims to study the usage of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) in the field of shipping and logistics sector which includes freight forwarding business, logistics sector, the movement of cargoes through sea which is typically called as sea freight, usage in customs operations, port operations and so on and so forth. The usage of EDI in various operations of shipping business has been studied through the users of the respective applications. The impact on the usage of EDI depends on the users who are involved in the process of exports and imports and also who are interested to transport the products from one point to another point. The usage of EDI has increased multifold in the current scenario since every trader would like to get things done at the quickest possible time and also by spending fewer amounts of money and with greater ease of getting things done across the systems. The applications of EDI are made available through internet and this aspect facilitates the international traders to use EDI applications more predominantly. The EDI and Electronic Commerce are always used in conjunction by the traders who expect the processing of transactions in a transparent manner. The logistical aspects can be processed at a faster pace than before through the usage of EDI which literally leads to faster access to data and information. The global usage of EDI has made the international traders to go for e-filing of documents such as bill of lading, bills of exchange, letter of credit, cargo manifests and other e-documents with fewer hassles. The impact on the usage of EDI is studies in this article through the users who are involved in shipping business in Chennai.

Abstract: The important key to success in any business is how well the entrepreneur utilize their resources, use them professionally and bring the extreme output and at the same time removing unwanted. Effective management of supply chain is a very essential feature in any business as it is directly related with the cost of the product mass-produced and also business plan and the prominence of logistics. Supply chain and shipping management is a concept that is valuable for shipping companies operations and success. By reconnoitering present studies it recognized several factors which are of great importance for effective execution of logistics service and shipping management. These factors include present and potential competitiveness, previous investments, industry policies, overall business performance, freight rate and price volatility, internationalization, factor productivity growth and the increase of energy efficiency. This paper suggests that Innovation of supply chain and shipping is an important way to secure further competitiveness.

Abstract: In this work, a detailed three-dimensional (3D) nonlinear finite element model is developed to study the response and predict the behavior of beam–column connection subjected to cyclic loads that was tested at the karunya Institute of technology and sciences (KITS) laboratory. The beam column joint is modeled using 3D solid elements and surface-to-surface contact elements between the beam/column faces and interface grout in the vicinity of the connection. The model takes into account the pre-tension effect in the post-tensioning strand and the nonlinear material behavior of concrete. Fracture of the mild-steel bars resulted in the failure of the connection. In order to predict this failure mode, stress and strain fields in the mild-steel bars at the beam–column interface were generated from the analyzed model.. In addition, the magnitude of the force developed in the post-tensioning steel tendon was also monitored and it was observed that it did not yield during the entire loading. Steel mesh was developed in the beam to increase the shear capacity. Finite element modeling will provide a practical and economical tool to investigate the behavior of such connections.

Abstract: Since independence Indian society travelled a long way to reach the remarkable place in the modern world by its own culture and tradition. In India, Women constitute nearly half of the population and play a major role in the economic growth aspects of the family and nation by their unconditioned support in different aspects especially in the technical reforms. The future of mankind is thus linked to the development of women’s potential in the development phase. After independence, the Indian constitution has given the equal opportunities to men & women on paper as a Act yet women remain secondary to men. This study aimed to picture the issues and challenges faced by the women employees in the modern world with reference to the technical industries. For the study purpose focus group discussion were conducted among the 50 women employees in the different types of technical enterprises and the study results were narrated in the different headings. This study found that mostly women are feeling insecure in the work place due to many reasons but they are working the industries to prove themselves to the society in terms of various aspects such as fulfill the economic needs of the family, social recognition, passion and enjoy the social freedom from the traditional society. This study suggests the society and industries to treat all the gender in equal and maintain the social balance. Further, more number of industry specific studies are needed in this area to picture the reality of the women workers in the society and the modern world.
