Abstract: In today’s scenario an artificially constructed metamaterials have become the topic of significant interest, because these material shows the electromagnetic characteristics. In order to achieve negative electrical permittivity and negative magnetic permeability NRW method is presented. The propagation of electromagnetic waves is determined by a two fundamental characteristic quantities such as the electrical permittivity ε and the magnetic permeability μ. In this paper, by the use of CST simulator which is based on Finite element method, S parameters are extracted. By the use of MATLAB script, the permittivity and permeability curves are calculated. Perfect electric and perfect magnetic (PE-PM) boundary conditions methods are employed in CST to extract the S parameters. To excite the structure, wave ports are used.
