Abstract: In this work, Comparison and Assessment of Conventional and Optimal Coordinated PSS and UPFC Damping Controller. The two types of coordinated controllers are compared w.r.t peak over shoot and settling time, The results obtained by optimal coordinated controller are found to be superior compared to conventional coordinated controller. The proposed controllers have been tested on Single Machine Infinite bus System (SMIB) linearized Phillips Heffron model of power system using MATLAB/SIMULINK platform
