Abstract: The causes of collapse of clay rocks of different Genesis were revealed. As a result of the experimental study, a chalk solution stabilized with non-hydrolyzed polyacrylamide was proposed. The assessment of the degree of stability of clay cores, both freshwater and marine origin in the process of washing wells with chalk solution stabilized polymer reagents. In order to ensure the stability of the wellbore wall, it is recommended to open potentially unstable clay deposits using chalk solutions stabilized with non-hydrolyzed polyacrylamide.
